Miami Dade College
2019-2020 Grantee
In 2019, Miami Dade College launched GISEC, a three-pronged approach to address underrepresentation in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and to enhance technological applications of public interest. GISEC emphasizes environmental hazards awareness and community engagement in Miami-Dade County, a minority-majority urban area significantly affected by, and at ongoing risk for, natural disasters.
PIT-UN members are invited to replicate the academic pathway (see below) or GISEC’s Project Learning and Research data by contacting primary investigator, Carlos Genatios, Ph.D, Miami Dade College, at [email protected].
