Public interest technology (PIT) career fairs build connections between universities developing civic-minded technologists and employers in industry, government and civil society. PIT Career Fairs will be running seasonally through 2024 and into 2025.

Employers will have the unique opportunity to engage with students across a wide variety of majors and class years. Designed to educate students about Public Interest Technology career paths, the program will include lightning talks, networking, and hands-on technology demos. The event will take place in the luxury suites in Scott Stadium from 5 – 8pm.

The second Law & PIT Multi-institution Career Fair seeks to connect PIT employers and legal students through informational sessions, mock interviews, active recruitment, and informational interviews. Through the career fair, employers will explore and showcase what work in the field of public interest technology looks like for legal professionals. Co-hosted with UPenn, Villanova and Drexel.

The PIT Career Resource Fair will connect PIT employers with students from San José State, CSU Monterey Bay, CSU East Bay and San Francisco State University. This platform will facilitate meaningful interactions, attracting students exploring career paths and employers seeking top talent. Takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The PIT-UN Career Fair RFP
Each year, the Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN) seeks proposals from its member institutions’ Career Placement or Career Counseling Service staff for Career Fair(s) to connect students with employers and community partners who are designing, developing, and deploying technology that serves the public interest – a growing and diverse field known as public interest technology (PIT).
A successful PIT Career Fair is be a collaboration between a member institution’s Career Placement or Career Counseling Office, their PIT-UN Designees or PIT-UN Network Challenge Principal Investigators, and regional employers and/or employer organizations to ensure the event facilitates opportunities that are related not just to technology, but explicitly to public interest technology.
